THE GRIM REAPER MOVES INCREDIBLY SEDUCTIVE

THE RABBIT FUR MAKES IT POSSIBLE

The Grim Reaper is a classic skirted jig in terms of its structure, but already has a trailer in the form of a narrow strip of rabbit fur. These fur strips, also known as zonker strips, have a phenomenal movement. On the one hand, this is due to the very soft leather underneath on which the fur sits. On the other hand, the rabbit fur hairs themselves are extremely fine and move with the slightest twitch. This allows you to bring the Grim Reaper to life directly at the hotspot without moving it away just by tightening the line. Also, ideal for fishing in flowing waters, where the current helps you to guide the Grim Reaper as attractively as possible.

NO FEAR OF SHORT TAKES

As you probably know very well, fish don't always take the lure straight away. On some days, they are extremely aggressive and will pounce on your bait. On other days, they are much more cautious, and the subtle takes are more like nudging the lure. To minimise the number of false takes in such cases, the Grim Reaper has a micro ring that is attached to the lure via a piece of braided line. This way you can attach an additional hook to this micro ring using a split ring or a snap. To avoid the zonker strip and the hooks on the braided line from getting tangled, we recommend piercing the hook once through the leather of the zonker strip. This keeps it in place and prevents it from fluttering around. This assembly is also the reason why we have chosen a braid line and not a stiffer material such as hard mono or titanium. These would only affect the seductive play of the zonker strip.

GREAT MATERIALS WITH UV EFFECT

The catchability of this artificial lure is not only due to the zonker strip. Rather, it is the skilful combination of different materials that makes this lure so appealing. In addition to the zonker strips, angel hair, chenille and predator brushes are used for the skirt. Moreover, flash fibres provide an attractive glitter effect, like the flashing scales of a fleeing prey fish.

But the surprise comes when you look at the Grim Reaper under UV light. Some models only show what they are really made of in this light spectrum.

IN VARIOUS COLOURS, SIZES AND WEIGHTS, ALL LEAD-FREE

You can find the Grim Reaper in several different colours, weights and lengths. The jig head is fitted with a classic straight-shank hook in sizes #1 or #1/0, which is matched to the length of the respective model. Please note that the Grim Reaper is not an industrial mass product, but that every single lure is completely handmade. Therefore, there may be minimal tolerances in length and weight.

However, we make no compromises when it comes to the jig heads. These are made of tungsten and are therefore lead-free.
