POLAR POLARISED SUNGLASSES – CLASSIC & FUNCTIONAL

The POLAR polarised sunglasses by aqua combine a clean, timeless design with functional features developed for fly fishing. The slightly square lens shape and classic styling suit medium-sized faces particularly well, offering a balanced and understated look on the water.

POLARISED LENSES – CLEAR VISION ON THE WATER

All versions of the POLAR are equipped with polarised lenses. The polarising filter reduces disturbing glare caused by sunlight reflecting off the water’s surface. The result is noticeably less eye strain and a clearer, more contrast-rich view into the water.

You are able to spot fish, structures and the riverbed more clearly, maintain better control over your drift and reduce eye fatigue during long days of fishing. All lenses provide 100% UV protection, shielding your eyes from harmful ultraviolet radiation.

FOUR LENS COLOURS FOR DIFFERENT LIGHT CONDITIONS

The POLAR is available in four lens colours, each suited to typical light conditions encountered in fly fishing:

Yellow – Lens category 2 (medium tint)
Ideal in low light, overcast conditions or during early morning and late evening hours. Yellow lenses enhance contrast and make underwater details stand out more clearly.

Brown – Lens category 3 (dark tint)
A versatile choice for sunny days. Brown lenses increase contrast while maintaining a natural, warm colour perception.

Grey – Lens category 3 (dark tint)
Reduces overall brightness evenly without significantly altering colours. Particularly comfortable in strong sunlight.

Blue mirrored – Lens category 3 (dark tint, mirrored)
The additional mirror coating reflects part of the incoming light and further reduces glare in very bright conditions, such as on still waters or wide rivers.

Note on lens categories: Lens categories (1–4) indicate the level of light transmission and therefore the intensity of the tint. Category 2 represents a medium tint, while category 3 is a darker tint suitable for bright sunlight. All versions provide full UV protection.

MADE IN ITALY

Like all aqua models, the POLAR is manufactured in Italy, reflecting precise craftsmanship and high quality standards in eyewear production.

The frame is made from black satin TR90 nylon, a material widely used in performance eyewear. TR90 is known for its high flexibility and low weight. It can bend without breaking and adapts comfortably to your face without permanently losing its shape.

At just 25 g, the POLAR remains comfortable and unobtrusive even during long days on the water.

SECURE FIT AND STABILITY WHILE CASTING

The straight temples ensure a stable fit. A removable retainer cord can be attached to keep the sunglasses securely in place – particularly useful when casting actively or leaning over the water. This reduces the risk of accidentally dropping your glasses.

The base curve 6 refers to the gentle curvature of the lenses. It provides good side coverage without being overly wrapped, offering a balanced combination of protection, field of view and wearing comfort.

The POLAR comes supplied with a microfibre pouch, which can also be used as a cleaning cloth for the lenses.
